Overview This excursion offers a comprehensive look at two of Santo Domingo’s most significant landmarks in a single day. Visitors will explore the natural evolution and history of these sites while observing local flora and fauna. Accompanied by local guides, the journey focuses on a National Park known for its cultural charm followed by a visit to a magnificent architectural monument.

Highlights The tour features the exploration of natural cenotes, stalagmites, and stalactites within subterranean caverns. Guests will also visit a prominent mausoleum and museum dedicated to the famous Italian navigator, providing a deep dive into the historical heritage of the region.

Full Description The journey begins at Los Tres Ojos National Park, a hidden natural wonder located inside a cavern system. This site houses four distinct lakes, which originated as a single body of water but have since evolved to have unique individual characteristics. After exploring the caves, the tour proceeds to the Columbus Lighthouse. This grand structure serves as both a museum and a mausoleum, offering guests the opportunity to discover lesser-known historical facts and cultural insights regarding the discovery of the Americas.

What’s Included The package includes entrance fees to Los Tres Ojos National Park and the Columbus Lighthouse, as well as transportation between the two attractions and a live tour guide.

What to Bring Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for exploring the cavern areas. It is also advisable to bring personal items for sun protection and a camera to capture the natural scenery and architecture.

Duration 4 Hours

Meeting Point Pick-up is available at locations within the Colonial City, at the Museum of the Royal Houses next to the sundial, or directly at the entrance of Three Eyes Park.

Why Travelers Love It Travelers appreciate the convenience of visiting two major historical and natural sites in one half-day trip. The contrast between the subterranean beauty of the cenotes and the imposing scale of the lighthouse museum provides a well-rounded cultural experience. The presence of knowledgeable local guides adds depth to the visit, uncovering facts that are not commonly known to the general public.
